Austria: Right-Wing Shift?

By kybeline

Heinz-Christian Strache (39) and the Austrian Federal Party (FPÖ) might become the third strongest power in Austria after the next elections in this autumn. The right wing could get toghether with Haider’s Alliance for the Future of Austria (BZÖ) about 25 % of the votes. The other established parties are eager to state, that they will not get into any kind of collaboration with Strache’s party. For some people it is upseting, that political parties, which are considered a threat to the democracy, cannot be so easily vorbidden in Austria.

Strache has planned early this year to found a European right-wing party. Reffering to the anti-islamisation congress in Cologne last weekend he said: “There is no point in it and we cannot allow our children (…) in our own schools to be abused of as pork-eaters and that our dauthers to be exposed to the greedy eyes and hands of all kinds of immigrant hordes.”
